I love the tone of this. Music industry, beware your public:

It was not quite the expected result given that U2, Britney Spears and even the Beatles were in contention. But in what will serve as a cautionary tale for the music world of the dangers in soliciting the public vote, Rick Astley, the 1980s crooner, last night was awarded the title of best act ever at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

It’s a set of 42 Josef Müller Brockmann posters. Go and look at them immediately. Especially this one.

I recently came to this conclusion: as an interaction designer, if I’m not actively using social networks, then I’m just not doing my job. It’s obvious to say, but social media is the evolving, messy, inexorable and probably bright future of this business. I’m not normally a fan of 3D interfaces, but this I like. If it would just broaden out from MSNBC feeds to something I’d actually want to read, I could look at it forever.

I’m pretty sure I’ve heard this news before:

Oh, that’s right. There was a survey on this last year. I’m changing professions; there’s clearly a lot of cash to throw at these survey things.

It’s good to see that, even in the face of global financial collapse, looming US elections, and increasingly aggressive behaviour from Russia, there’s a place for news like this:

It’s all the more comforting because I’m not in the country right now.

Beautiful helvetica-caressed monopoly board. I’m not sure it would make the game any more interesting, but at least I’d have something to look at. My start as a typographer has left me with a weakness for lovely typefaces.
